Coming Soon’ish: Site Revamp (Update: 4/2/14)

I spend so much time programming Command Center and Battle Tome that the site’s appearance is very often neglected. I don’t think it looks terrible but it’s getting dated and there’s a lot I could do to really improve upon the design and layout. The biggest thing I want to implement is a responsive design. A responsive design is one that looks good on a PC/Mac as well as mobile devices and tablets. To ignore that market in this day and age is to shoot yourself in the foot. I know I have to pull up rosters on my phone when I forget to print it out and this site can make that a chore at times.

Along with getting a responsive design in place will be a general revamp of the site. I have a lot of items on my to-do list that I want to finally get to, like revising the menus in a more logical manner, finishing off the look of Battle Tome, cleaning up Command Center…it’s an endless list really.

In short, I want to bring this website into modern times, it deserves it. If you all have suggestions and ideas for things you’d like to see incorporated into the redesign then fire away.

Update (4/2/14)

I’m going to be reorganizing some of the pages in the site to prepare for the upcoming site update. It’s unlikely anyone has these pages bookmarked but if you do then you may find the URL changed. If that’s the case then just check the menu for the new URL. That also means the menu will be getting rearranged.

Thanks Thor. Love the site. You are right BTW about using this site on mobile. I’ve more than once forgotten to print a list, only to be saved by being able to access it on my android. Any improvements can only help accesssability, and would be welcomed. Keep up the good work!

    • Much appreciated.

The plan is to make the site itself more mobile accessible but working on rosters on a phone is pretty well out of the question for now. However, you’ll be able to get a print view or PDF view of a roster far more easily on mobile devices, which is really what most of us do with this site on a phone anyway.

So Thor owns the site…(I’m new here)

Hi Thor, this site is very easy to use and I hope more people access it in the future!

    • Thank you and welcome.
